Fish Tray Drainage System
The crates are manufactured with an integrated drainage system, which not only guarantees superior catch quality, it also allows for unwanted fluids including fish oil, blood and mucilage to drain directly from the fish trays many drainage channels.
A unique open drainage channel within the plastic fish tray maintains airflow around the product when exported and distributed. So when the fish arrive at their destination they are in supreme condition and free from toxins associated with other fish packaging products like polystyrene.
High Quality Materials
Transpac Europe only supplies fish crates that are injection moulded from high quality HDPE mono-polymer. The characteristics of HDPE make it the perfect match for use within the seafood and aquaculture industry as it provides protection from impact and distortion. The fish crate material also allows for the fish trays to work at temperatures from -30 to 80 degrees centigrade.
Maximum Space Optimisation
The fish crates have been designed to maximise space when in transit and our 25kg model used mainly for exporting and transporting whole Salmon uses an ergonomically integrated handle allowing for up to 960 25kg Euro Fish Trays when full to be transported on a 32-pallet transit load space. When the crates are empty, a surprising 3,840 boxes can be transported on the same 32-pallet transit space.
Carbon Footprint Reduction
Sustainability within the seafood industry is more important than ever within farming, processing and distribution. Polystyrene packaging is proving to be very expensive and harmful to the planet. Using our reusable fish crates allows for large reductions in carbon footprints and therefore safeguards the planet in which we live. We have included a comparison of carbon footprints between plastic and polystyrene.
There are several methods of carbon footprint measurement used to calculate impact. The below graph concentrates on the “cradle to grave” method which evaluates the full life cycle from manufacture to disposal.
Fish Crate Traceability
We offer an option of integrating RFID in each individual crate allowing our customers and their end users to track and trace the shipment of crates including the catch. This enables complete transparency throughout the supply chain for additional efficiencies.
